George Washington (15-2, 4-0 A-10) limited Rhode Island to 15 percent shooting (4-of-26) to take a 24-13 halftime lead.

Overall, the Rams shot 29 percent (17-of-59) and made just one 3-pointer in 11 attempts, helping negate their 43-33 advantage on the backboards.

Kenan Cole finished with 11 points for GW, which struggled at the line, hitting 14-of-26.

Safi Mojidi led Rhode Island (4-14, 2-2) with 11 points, but she typified the Rams' shooting woes, connecting on just 3-of-14 shots.
