Davenport helps Ohio State dump Wisconsin

Jan 19, 2007 - 4:54 AM MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Jessica Davenport helped Ohio State turn a tough road game into a rout right after the half.

Davenport scored 16 points and Brandie Hoskins added 15 as the seventh-ranked Buckeyes used a big second-half run to roll to a 74-51 victory over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Conference.

Despite entering the contest with an eight-game winning streak, Ohio State (16-1, 5-0 Big Ten) held a 35-24 lead at the half. The Buckeyes blew open the contest after that, opening up the second half by going on a 27-9 run.

Davenport shot 7-of-10 from the floor, grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots.

Hoskins handed out seven assists and Star Allen added 14 points and eight boards for Ohio State, which held a 48-24 advantage in points in the paint but finished even at 39-39 on the boards.

Jolene Anderson scored 25 points for the Badgers (13-6, 2-4), who shot 29 percent (20-of-69) in losing for just the second time in 11 home games this season.
