Seniors sparkle in Bowling Green's win over Miami-Ohio
Mar 1, 2007 - 7:42 AM BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Ticker) -- The seniors sparkled for Bowling Green on Senior Night.Senior Carin Horne scored 23 points and classmate Ali Mann chipped in 22 points as the 18th-ranked Falcons crushed Miami-Ohio, 92-62, in a Mid-American Conference contest.
The victory capped a stellar regular season for Bowling Green (26-3, 15-1 MAC) and extended the team's winning streak over Miami to seven games.
Jenna Schone scored 19 points for the RedHawks (12-17, 6-10), who lost for the sixth straight time on the road and concluded their regular season by dropping seven of their last eight games.
The Falcons led by only four points at halftime (37-33) but erupted for 55 points in the second half on 17-of-25 shooting (68 percent) from the field. Bowling Green overwhelmed Miami by outscoring the RedHawks, 42-14, in the paint and by tallying 21 fast-break points.
Horne and Mann received support from fellow seniors Liz Honegger and Amber Flynn, who scored 13 points apiece.
