Mann, Bowling Green roll to third MAC tourney title
Mar 10, 2007 - 10:42 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio (Ticker) -- Ali Mann finished her career as the class of the Mid-American Conference once again.Mann scored 20 points and Kate Achter added 18 as No. 18 Bowling Green collected its third straight MAC tournament title with a 67-53 victory over Ball State.
One of three senior starters for the Falcons (29-3) and the MAC co-Player of the Year, Mann shot 8-of-13 from the field and grabbed five rebounds.
Fellow classmates Carin Horne and Megan Thorburn added 11 and six points, respectively, for Bowling Green, which improved to 43-1 against conference opponents over the past two seasons.
Shooting 61 percent (14-of-23) in the first half, the Falcons raced out to a 31-18 lead. That advantage was extended to 21 points midway through the second.
Porchia Green and Kelsey Corbin had 15 points apiece for the Cardinals (24-6), who finished 34 percent (18-of-53) and were topped in points in the paint, 34-18.
