UConn tops St. John's at MSG
Jan 13, 2011 - 4:59 AM New York, NY (Sports Network) - Maya Moore and Tiffany Hayes both scored 21 points to help second-ranked Connecticut beat St. John's, 84-52, at Madison Square Garden.Moore and Hayes combined to make 16-of-25 shots, with the former adding eight assists, six rebounds and three steals. Hayes also finished with eight boards and three steals.
Samarie Walker logged 15 points and Kelly Faris posted 13 for the Huskies (15-1, 5-0 Big East), who have won three straight since losing at Stanford on December 30.
Da'Shena Stevens led St. John's (12-5, 1-3) with 12 points.
