Clemson fires coach Coleman
Mar 8, 2013 - 5:51 PM Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Clemson women's head basketball coach Itoro Coleman has been relieved of her duties.The Lady Tigers' season came to an end with Thursday's loss to NC State in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Clemson finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 9-21 record, including a 5-13 mark in ACC play.
"I want to thank coach Coleman for her hard work and dedication as Clemson's head coach," Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich said in a statement on Friday. "She has represented Clemson University with dignity and class, dating to her days as a player. However, after an evaluation of the program, it is time to make a change. We will begin a national coaching search immediately."
The Lady Tigers went 25-63 (10-38 ACC) during Coleman's three years guiding the program.
Coleman starred for the Lady Tigers from 1995-99, helping the team reach four ACC Championship games and make four NCAA Tournament appearances.
