Harrison helps Lady Vols down Gamecocks
Mar 2, 2014 - 10:16 PM Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Isabelle Harrison scored 20 points with 15 rebounds as No. 10 Tennessee took a 73-61 victory over fourth-ranked South Carolina.Meighan Simmons scored 16 points and Andraya Carter added 14 for the Lady Volunteers (24-5, 13-3 SEC), who clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament that starts on Wednesday.
Aleighsa Welch scored 16 points and gave nine rebounds for the Gamecocks (26-3, 14-2), who had clinched the conference regular season title with a win over Georgia on Thursday.
Tennessee led this game from start to finish as the team scored the first six points and led by as many as 11 in the first half before taking a 38-30 lead into the locker room.
South Carolina was never closer than six back in the second half, and an 8-2 run late in the game from Tennessee put the game away.
