Georgia survives close call, downs Southern California
Nov 25, 2007 - 5:08 AM FREEPORT, Bahamas (Ticker) -- Tasha Humphrey had 18 points and 14 rebounds to power eighth-ranked Georgia to a 59-57 victory over Southern California on Saturday night to win the Junkanoo Jam's Freeport Division championship.Robinson added 15 points for the Bulldogs (6-0), who rallied from a six-point halftime deficit but found themselves trailing again with 7 1/2 minutes remaining before a late push.
Angela Puleo scored 11 for Georgia, which overcame 2-for-21 shooting from the arc. The Bulldogs committed just four turnovers en route to 14 for the Trojans and held a 32-12 advantage in points in the paint.
Aarika Hughes had 13 points for USC (2-2), which shot just 29 percent (10-of-35) in the second half.
