Humphrey, Houts help Georgia go to 8-0
Dec 2, 2007 - 10:44 PM ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- Tasha Humphrey collected 21 points and 12 rebounds to help No. 8 Georgia remain undefeated with a 71-64 victory over intrastate rival Georgia Tech on Sunday.Ashley Houts netted 17 points and Angel Robinson added 13 and eight boards for the Lady Bulldogs (8-0), who battled through 23 turnovers to improve to 28-2 in the all-time series.
With the game tied at 59-59 at the 1:31 mark, Houts drained eight critical free throws over the final minute to seal the win.
Iasia Hemingway scored 22 points and Chioma Nnamaka registered 18 and seven rebounds for Georgia Tech, which shot just 34 percent (24-of-70) from the field.
Hemingway and Alex Montgomery scored all of the Yellow Jackets' (5-1) points during an impressive 15-5 surge that help create a 33-25 edge at intermission.
