Prince, Rutgers rally to top Maryland

Dec 4, 2007 - 3:34 AM PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Epiphanny Prince scored 22 points as sixth-ranked Rutgers used a big second half to topple No. 3 Maryland, 68-60, in the Jimmy V Classic on Monday.

Essence Carson and Matee Ajavon added 15 points apiece for the Scarlet Knights (5-1), who shot 51.6 percent (16-of-31) after the break en route to their third straight win over a ranked foe.

Trailing, 33-23, at the break, Rutgers went on a 15-4 run midway through the second half to grab a 46-45 advantage.

Prince finished 8-of-14 from the field with three 3-pointers and handed out 10 assists.

Marissa Coleman had 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Kristi Toliver scored 15 for the Terrapins (10-1), who committed 20 turnovers, leading to 19 points for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers finished with just nine giveaways.
