Sizzling shooting leads George Washington over Richmond
Feb 28, 2008 - 3:02 AM RICHMOND, Virginia (Ticker) -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 19 points and Jessica Adair added 17 as No. 15 George Washington posted a 75-59 victory over Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Conference on Wednesday.Whitney Allen had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Kimberly Beck added nine points and 12 assists for the Colonials (23-5, 11-2 A-10), who had a 32-12 advantage in points in the paint in winning for the ninth time in 10 games.
Holding a 36-32 edge at the half, George Washington improved upon its 59 percent shooting in the first half by going 16-of-25 (64 percent) after the break.
Overall, the Colonials shot 56 percent (31-of-55) from the field.
Johanna McKnight and Brittani Shells each had 17 points for the Spiders (13-15, 6-7), who committed 19 turnovers.
