George Washington cruises, advances in A-10 tourney
Mar 9, 2008 - 6:22 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Kimberly Beck added 11 points, six assists and five steals to power No. 12 George Washington past Rhode Island, 70-43, in a quarterfinal game of the Atlantic 10 tournament on Saturday.Jessica Adair added 12 points for the Colonials (25-5), who will face the winner of the game between Xavier and Saint Joseph's on Sunday.
George Washington extended a 36-17 halftime lead to as many as 28 points in the second half. The Colonials held the Rams to 31 percent (16-of-51) shooting from the field and forced 23 turnovers.
Amanda McGrew paced the Rams (13-18) with nine points.
