Littles does a lot to spark Virginia

Mar 24, 2008 - 4:41 AM NORFOLK, Virginia (Ticker) -- Lyndra Littles had 17 points and 10 rebounds to spark fourth-seeded Virginia to an 86-52 romp over No. 13 UC Santa Barbara on Sunday in a first-round game at the Greensboro Regional.

The Cavaliers (24-9) will face intrastate rival and fifth seed Old Dominion in an NCAA Tournament second-round game Tuesday.

Aisha Mohammed scored 15 points as Virginia pulled away from a nine-point halftime lead to break open the game in the second half.

The Cavaliers dominated the backboards, 47-31, and held the Gauchos (23-8) to 23 percent shooting (6-of-26) after the intermission.

Jessica Wilson paced UC Santa Barbara with 13 points.
