Colonials pull away from Stony Brook in second half
Dec 2, 2006 - 11:19 PM STONY BROOK, New York (Ticker) -- Kenan Cole and Sarah-Jo Lawrence led a balanced attack as No. 20 George Washington overcame a first-half deficit to post a 68-55 victory over Stony Brook.Kimberly Beck and Jessica Adair added 12 points for the Colonials (7-1), who trailed, 27-18, with eight minutes to play in the first half. George Washington closed the half with a 13-2 run to take a 31-29 lead.
Stony Brook did not get any closer than two points in the second half and trailed by as many as 16.
Jessica Smith had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Seawovles, who shot just 34 percent (22-of-64) and committed 23 turnovers.
Mykeema Ford scored 14 and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.
