After great win, Arkansas hosts I-AA SE Missouri State

Oct 10, 2006 - 11:16 PM SE Missouri (3-2) at No. 17 Arkansas (4-1), 2:00 pm EDT

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) - After beating the nation's second-ranked team on the road, Arkansas should have no problem facing a Division I-AA squad at home.

Following one of the best wins in program history, the 17th-ranked Razorbacks host Southeast Missouri State on Saturday.

Last week, the unranked Razorbacks (4-1) stunned No. 2 Auburn, 27-10. It was the highest-ranked team Arkansas had defeated on the road since a 14-13 triumph over No. 1 Texas in 1964.

Darren McFadden ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and Felix Jones rushed for 104 yards and a score for Arkansas, which outgained Auburn on the ground by an impressive 279-60 en route to its first 3-0 Southeastern Conference start since 1998.

With the victory, Mitch Mustain improved to 4-0 - the most wins by a true freshman starting quarterback in school history.

Southeast Missouri State (3-2) has lost two of its last three games, including a 21-0 setback at Eastern Illinois last Saturday. The Redhawks had not committed a turnover until losing the ball three times last week. The teams are meeting for just the second time. Exactly 100 years ago, Arkansas posted a 12-0 victory in Little Rock.

Arkansas coach Houston Nutt went 4-0 against the Redhawks while with Murray State.
