Oklahoma State returns home to face surging Texas A&M

Oct 17, 2006 - 7:11 PM No. 23 Texas A&M (6-1) at Oklahoma St (4-2), 7:05 pm EDT

STILLWATER, Oklahoma (Ticker) - Oklahoma State is returning home just in time.

The Cowboys have not played in Stillwater in more than a month and return home for a Big 12 Conference matchup against No. 23 Texas A&M.

After a 48-8 win over Florida Atlantic on September 16, Oklahoma State (4-2, 1-1 Big 12 South) lost two of three road games. The Cowboys are coming off a 42-32 victory over Kansas and are excited to be home again.

"Our players are excited about playing here. I think everybody is aware that when we have played our league games here in the past four or five years, we have an advantage," Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said. "It is a sea of orange and it is loud. There is always a comfort level when playing here. It is nice to get back home."

Bobby Reid passed for five touchdowns and ran for another score as Oklahoma State rallied from a 17-point deficit against Kansas.

It was the first Big 12 road win in nearly two years for the Cowboys, who last won a conference contest away from home at Missouri on October 23, 2004.

Reid completed 23-of-31 attempts for a career-high 411 yards - the school's second-highest passing total - and ran for 46 yards on 14 carries. His 457 total yards shattered the previous school record of 434 set by Gundy in 1989.

Reid's favorite target was Adarius Bowman, who recorded career highs of 13 receptions for 300 yards and four TDs.

Texas A&M (6-1, 2-1 South) joined the rankings for the first time this season after a 25-19 victory over then-No. 19 Missouri.

Jorvorskie Lane ran for a career-high 127 yards and a touchdown, Stephen McGee completed 19-of-23 passes for 183 yards and a TD and Texas A&M forced three crucial turnovers in the upset.

Texas A&M leads the series, 15-6. Since the formation of the Big 12, the Aggies have won eight of the 10 meetings against the Cowboys, including the last two.
