Final
Galaxy edge Union, 1-0
Apr 3, 2011 - 5:02 AM Carson, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Galaxy rebounded from an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Real Salt Lake last weekend to top the Philadelphia Union, 1-0, at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night.Brazilian defender Leonardo scored the game's only goal, heading in a David Beckham free kick in the 33rd minute to push L.A. to its second win of the season.
The Galaxy limited Philadelphia's offensive chances for most of the game despite playing the final 37 minutes down a man after Chris Birchall was sent off after an altercation with Union striker Carlos Ruiz.
Union (2-1-0) forward Jack McInerney earned his own ejection four minutes into stoppage time, and will miss Philadelphia's next match at New York next Saturday. The Galaxy (2-1-1) travel to take on D.C. United in their next MLS fixture next Saturday as well.
