Chicago, RSL battled to scoreless draw
Jun 23, 2011 - 3:03 AM Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - Real Salt Lake and the Chicago Fire battled to a 0-0 draw in Major League Soccer action on Wednesday night at Toyota Park.Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson made the play of the game, a reflex save on Collen Warner from point blank about 28 minutes into the game to preserve the draw. Warner found himself open eight yards from goal after receiving a Robbie Russell cross, but Johnson shot his arm up to parry the ball over the goal.
With the draw, RSL improves to 2-3-3 on the road this season, with goalkeeper Nick Rimando recording his seventh clean sheet of the season. RSL now allowed one goal or fewer in 12 of 14 games this season.
Chicago Fire (2-4-10), which earned its league-leading 10th draw of the season, is back in action Sunday when it hosts Red Bull New York, while RSL (6-3-5) hosts Toronto on Saturday night.
