FCD tangles with Galaxy at Toyota Park

May 8, 2015 - 7:46 PM Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - FC Dallas aims to continue its positive start to the season on Saturday when the club hosts the Los Angeles Galaxy at Toyota Stadium.

Dallas enters Saturday's match tied atop the Western Conference with Vancouver, and the club is hoping to keep that hunger and desire going against a Galaxy side that is riding a five-game unbeaten streak.

FCD is coming off a resounding 4-1 win over in-state rival Houston last time out, but head coach Oscar Pareja is quick to point out that the season is only just beginning.

"When you come from a winning game and very good performance, you have to understand it doesn't give you anything else than that," Pareja said. "You have to keep earning it, working hard, keeping yourself humble and seeing the season as a long journey."

Forward Fabian Castillo continued his good vein of form against the Dynamo with a goal and two assists, giving him three goals and three assists over the last three games, which is a big reason why Dallas has collected seven points from its last three games.

Despite that positive run of form FCD goalkeeper Dan Kennedy knows his team must continue to push and have success at home if they are going to achieve their goals this season.

"It's so early and we've started off the way we have wanted to as a team, but we haven't achieved what we want to achieve," said Kennedy. "So it's important we keep our foot on the gas keep pushing forward and building momentum and in this league winning those games at home is really key so we need to make sure we are a force here."

The Galaxy may be unbeaten in their last five games, but the club has struggled in front of goal with just two goals in the last three games.

A 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake on Wednesday continue that unbeaten streak, but the club missed a great chance at snatching three points when Juninho had a penalty kick saved in the 90th minute.

Despite failing to collect the win, forward Alan Gordon was still pleased with the result as the club continues to pick up points without star forward Robbie Keane and a few other key pieces.

"I think all things considered this was a good result for us. This is going on a string of games where we're playing multiple different people in multiple positions," Gordon said. "We are obviously missing some key players; we've talked about that. But we continue to get results. And sometimes you need to grind out these tough games. [Rio Tinto Stadium] is not an easy place to play and so to give ourselves a chance to win at the end, we'll take that."
