Sydney lock in Macquarie Uni training base
Nov 22, 2016 - 7:28 AM Sydney FC have locked in their Macquarie University training base for a further five years, ending months of uncertainty surrounding their long-term home.In a move that will keep them separate from their A-League home ground of Allianz Stadium, the Sky Blues confirmed they have signed an extension to stay at the Ryde campus until mid-2021.
It will continue to cater for their A-League and National Youth League teams, and W-League squad training camps.
Sydney have trained at Macquarie University Sports Fields since 2007, but only on a month-by-month basis since the start of July when the previous deal expired.
The extension means the club will continue to be spread right across Sydney, with the academy based out west in Parklea and A-League matches played at the club's eastern Sydney administration base of Allianz Stadium.
The Sky Blues are expected to remain at Allianz long term as part of the state government's major upgrade.
