White helps Sun end skid
Sep 7, 2013 - 1:08 AM Uncasville, CT (Sports Network) - Tan White poured in a game-high 26 points in leading the Connecticut Sun past the Washington Mystics, 77-70, at Mohegan Sun Arena.The Mystics had dropped a franchise record-tying seven in a row since last winning at home against Atlanta on Aug. 14.
They ended it by shooting 50 percent from the field, with Kelsey Griffin chipping in 17 points and Renee Montgomery adding 14 off the bench.
Crystal Langhorne logged 16 points and 11 rebounds and Tayler Hill scored 16 for the playoff-hopeful Mystics, who were coming off a home-and-home sweep of Atlanta.
The Sun scored the game's first eight points but didn't take complete control until a late run in the third, which ended with the hosts holding a 60-50 lead.
The Mystics got within four, 72-68, down the stretch, but Ivory Latta missed three 3-pointers in the final minute to squash the comeback bid.
