Stars edge Shock
May 18, 2014 - 3:22 AM San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Jia Perkins tallied 20 points and scored the San Antonio's last eight points in the final 45 seconds to help edge the Stars to an 80-76 win over the Tulsa Shock.Notre Dame-product Skylar Diggins had 20 points along with nine assists, while Courtney Paris scored 13 and grabbed 14 rebounds for Tulsa.
The Shock took a 74-72 lead following a Paris layup with 1:12 left on the clock. Perkins nailed a 3-pointer to put her team up two with just over 45 seconds left, but Diggins sunk two free throws to regain the lead at 76-75.
Perkins drilled another three with 15.8 seconds left to put the Stars up 78-76. Tulsa had multiple opportunities to tie the game in the final ten seconds. Diggins missed a pair of short-range jumpers, but Paris grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled. She missed the front end of a one-and-one and Perkins drained two free throws to seal the game.
Danielle Robinson added 17 and five assists for the Stars, who shot 36.1 percent from the field.
