McBride leads Stars past Shock
May 29, 2014 - 2:24 AM San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kayla McBride scored 30 points to help the San Antonio Stars to an 82-79 win over the Tulsa Shock on Wednesday.Danielle Adams was the only other San Antonio player to record double figures in scoring with 10 points off the bench.
Glory Johnson had 18 points to lead the Shock, who dropped the first three games to open their season.
Skylar Diggins finished with 17 points and seven assists, Odyssey Sims chipped in with 16 and Courtney Paris added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the setback.
The game was tied at 77-77 after a Johnson layup with under two minutes to play in the game.
Adams made a jumper from in close before Diggins tied it back up with a jumper seconds later.
McBride essentially won it for the Stars with her 3-pointer with 13 seconds left.
Sims' trey as time expired was off the mark and Tulsa stayed winless on the season.
The teams were tied at 25-apiece after one and Tulsa brought a 46-42 lead into the halftime break. Sims then made a jumper as time expired in the third to give the Shock a 62-60 advantage heading to the fourth.
