Calgary opened the scoring on the first possession of the game. After taking the opening kickoff to the 55-yard line, Rene Paredes booted a 46-yard field goal through the uprights four plays later to give the Stampeders the early lead.
On the ensuing Lions touch, Malik Jackson fought through his block and knocked the ball out of Reilly's hands. The ball bounced end-over-end into the end zone and Jackson was there to pounce on it for the score, putting Calgary up 10-0.
After a two-and-out, Calgary took over on the 53-yard line and needed just one play, as Glenn tossed a screen pass out in the flat to Price, who galloped all the way to the end zone for a 17-0 Stamps lead with around five minutes gone in the opening quarter.
Facing a 1st-and-10 at the Calgary 46, Tate lofted one over the middle and was picked off by Ryan Phillips, who then fumbled after getting blasted by Rob Cote. Dimitri Tsoumpas was there to jump on the ball giving it back to the Stampeders at the BC 44.
On the next play, Tate hit Lewis down the right sideline for a 44-yard touchdown strike, extending the lead to a comfortable 24-0 margin with just over six minutes to go in the first quarter.
Calgary's first possession of the second quarter resulted in another major as Mitchell lofted a 1-yard pass to the back of the end zone for Corey Mace, who hauled it in for the score, widening the lead to 31-0.
Paredes connected on a 22-yard field goal to make it 34-0, and the Lions finally got on the board on their next possession.
Reilly led a 9-play, 75-yard drive to the Calgary 8-yard line before firing a touchdown strike to Simon in the back left corner of the end zone with 2:25 left before halftime to cut the deficit to 34-7.
Reilly connected with Foster with 10 seconds remaining before the halftime break, trimming the Calgary advantage to 34-14.
BC made it a two-possession game late in the third quarter when Tim Brown fielded a punt from Rob Maver at the 54-yard line and raced 56 yards the other way for the score, making it a 34-21 game.
But Paredes booted a 35-yard field goal on Calgary's next touch to make it a 16-point game.
