Germaine, Dennard lead Blaze in dramatic comeback
Mar 11, 2007 - 7:14 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Joe Germaine threw for 433 yards and 10 touchdowns - seven to Ryan Dennard - as the Utah Blaze got in the end zone twice in the last 45 seconds en route to a 75-71 comeback victory over the Arizona Rattlers.Trailing by nine points with 4:54 left, the Blaze capped a six-play drive as Germaine threw a TD pass to Dennard to make it 71-69 with 45 seconds left.
After recovering the ensuing onside kick its own 16, Utah scored again on just three plays. Germaine connected with Orshawa Bryant for a 23-yard TD pass to cap the scoring with 15 seconds remaining.
Germaine was 34-for-48 with just one interception. Dennard caught 16 passes for 181 yards and Orshawa had nine catches for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Rattlers quarterback Sherdrick Bonner was 23-for-34 for 319 yards and seven touchdowns.
