Kansas City's Philyaw throws six TDs in win
Apr 15, 2007 - 7:35 AM KANSAS CITY (Ticker) -- Raymond Philyaw threw six touchdowns and Ira Gooch was on the receiving end of a pair as the Kansas City Brigade knocked off the Grand Rapids Rampage, 52-41, in an Arena League contest.Philyaw hit Gooch with a fourth-quarter touchdown pass that put the Brigade (4-2) up 16 at 49-33.
Chad Salisbury tried unsuccessfully to rally the Rampage (2-4) by hitting Scotty Anderson for a 15-yard score to pull them within 49-41 with 6:07 left.
However, Clay Rush kicked a 24-yard field goal with 2:46 remaining to ice the game.
Gooch finished with nine catches for 115 yards and Philyaw completed 22-of-33 passes for 247 yards with no interceptions for the Brigade.
Meanwhile, Salisbury finished 23-of-30 for 223 yards and three scores for the Rampage, and Anderson caught nine passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
