Philyaw leads Brigade in rout
Apr 9, 2007 - 2:47 AM LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Raymond Philyaw threw for six touchdown passes as the Kansas City Brigade cruised to a 65-31 rout over the Las Vegas Gladiators.Philyaw completed 19-of-23 passes for 292 yards. Charles Frederick had nine receptions for 142 yards and three touchdowns and added a one-yard rushing score for the Brigade (3-2), who moved into second place in the Central Division.
Las Vegas (1-5) started the scoring with a 39-yard field goal by Steve Azar, but Kansas City scored the next five touchdowns to open a 34-3 lead.
Shaun King passed for 253 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted twice for the Gladiators, who joined the Arizona Rattlers at the bottom of the Western Division standings.
Terrence Quattlebaum had 11 catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns and Joe Douglass added eight for 100 for Las Vegas, which committed four turnovers.
