Late heroics from Wiprine, Shell propel VooDoo to win
Mar 31, 2008 - 12:31 AM DENVER (Ticker) -- Danny Wimprine threw for six touchdowns and ran for the game-winner from a yard out with 36 seconds left to lift the New Orleans VooDoo to a 54-51 victory over the Colorado Crush on Sunday.Wimprine completed 26-of-44 passes for 314 yards and an interception while James Jordan caught nine passes for 106 yards and four TDs for the VooDoo (4-1).
Despite the late score, New Orleans did not secure the game until defensive back Lin-J Shell intercepted John Dutton's pass in the end zone on the game's final play.
Dutton went 28-for-46 for 232 yards with seven TDs and an interception for the Crush (1-3).
