McPherson leads Wranglers to comeback win over Blaze

Apr 7, 2007 - 7:43 AM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Anthony Hines caught a 17-yard pass from Adrian McPherson with eight seconds left to give the Austin Wranglers an exciting 65-64 triumph over the Utah Blaze.

Utah (4-2) was on the verge of victory after Joe Germaine found Tom Pace for a 30-year scoring pass with 52 seconds to play. But McPherson marched the Wranglers (2-4) 45 yards on five plays for the clincher.

The elusive McPherson completed 18-of-29 passes for 271 yards and six TDs. He also ran seven times for 54 yards and two more scores.

Derrick Lewis got three touchdown passes, Hines hauled in two and Kevin Nickerson caught seven passes for 97 yards and one score for Austin, which trailed, 42-28, at the half.

Germaine threw for 304 yards and six TDs. He completed 29-of-38 with no interceptions but was sacked twice.

Slaha Burley caught 10 passes for 95 yards and three TDs for Utah, which scored touchdowns on its first six possessions.
