Last second field goal lifts Las Vegas over Utah

May 19, 2007 - 5:21 AM SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Steve Azar hit a field goal as time expired as the Las Vegas Gladiators snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 54-53 victory over the Utah Blaze.

Steve Videtich's 17-yard field goal gave Utah a 53-51 lead with 36 seconds remaining. Then, Nick Rolovich led Las Vegas on an eight-play, 42-yard drive which led to the game-winning field goal.

Rolovich passed for 329 yards and seven touchdowns. Thabiti Davis had 12 receptions for 114 yards and two touchdowns and Travis LaTendresse added nine catches for 117 yards and four scores for the Gladiators (2-10), who trailed, 21-0, after the first quarter.

Joe Germaine passed for 322 yards and six touchdowns - five in the first half - for the Blaze, who lost their third straight game.

Tom Pace and Siaha Burley each had 11 receptions and three scores for Utah (5-7), which converted 3-of-6 on third down.
