Sabercats win sixth straight game
May 26, 2007 - 4:11 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Mark Grieb had four total touchdowns and Marquis Floyd intercepted two passes to lift the San Jose Sabercats to their sixth straight win, a 48-34 triumph over the Nashville Kats on Friday.Grieb passed for 266 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for another score.
James Roe had 11 receptions for 112 yards and two scores and Rodney Wright added nine catches for 113 yards and a touchdown for the Sabercats (9-3), who remain at the top of the Western Division standings.
Jeff Smoker passed for 220 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted twice - both by Floyd - for the Kats, who have lost four of their last five games.
Dan Alexander rushed for two touchdowns and Kenny Higgins hauled in four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown for Nashville (5-8), which committed three turnovers and converted just 2-of-7 third downs.
