Alexander scores six touchdowns as Kats defeat Gladiators
Jun 11, 2007 - 1:23 AM LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Dan Alexander scored six touchdowns - five rushing - to lead the Nashville Kats to a 63-48 triumph over the Las Vegas Gladiators.Jeff Smoker completed 18-of-24 passes for 211 yards and three scores for the Kats (6-8), who remain one-half game behind the Utah Blaze (7-8) for the final playoff spot in the American Conference.
After starting the game with a 56-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, C.J. Johnson hauled in two touchdown receptions and Kenny Higgins added eight catches for 119 yards for Nashville, which converted 6-of-7 third downs.
Nick Rolovich passed for 319 yards and four touchdowns and Travis LaTendresse had 12 receptions for 205 yards and two scores for the Gladiators (2-12), who have lost 11 of their last 12 contests.
Terrance Quattlebaum added two rushing touchdowns and a receiving score for Las Vegas, which holds the worst record in the league.
