Rangers release three
Mar 26, 2012 - 10:48 PM Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers released pitchers Joe Beimel and Mitch Stetter, along with outfielder Conor Jackson amongst multiple roster moves on Monday.Beimel went 1-1 with a 5.33 earned run average in 35 games last season with the Pirates, and holds a 24-32 mark with a 4.21 ERA in 567 appearances over 11 major-league seasons with six teams.
Stetter did not record a decision in 16 games with the Brewers in 2011. The 31-year-old has pitched to an 8-2 record and 4.08 ERA in 132 contests for Milwaukee since 2007.
Jackson split last season between Oakland and Boston, hitting .244 with five homers, 17 doubles and 43 RBI in 114 games.
In addition, Texas optioned right-handed pitcher Mark Hamburger to Triple-A Round Rock and assigned pitcher Sean Green to minor league camp.
