Jimenez and Cain square off in the Bay Area

After winning 19 games a season ago, Jimenez is 0-2 with a 7.20 earned run average through four starts. He lasted just four innings in his most recent outing on Sunday versus the Pirates, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks in an 8-4 setback in which he also struck out six.
"Before I was trying to get my velocity back. Right now my arm feels really good. I have my power back, but I don't have my control. So I have to put those things together," said Jimenez, who missed time earlier this year with a finger injury of his recent struggles.
The 27-year-old right-hander's other loss this season came to the Giants on April 19, an outing in which he gave up four runs over five innings of a 6-3 setback. It dropped Jimenez below .500 for his career against San Francisco at 5-6 with a 3.34 ERA in 15 starts.
Colorado has lost three of its last four games and saw Huston Street blow his first save chance of the season Thursday. The Rockies carried a two-run lead into the ninth inning versus the Diamondbacks, but Street served up a pair of homers to force extra innings and Colorado eventually lost, 3-2, in 11 frames.
Street had been a perfect 11-for-11 in save chances before Thursday, but manager Jim Tracy would have liked to see the offense manage more than just the two RBI by Jose Morales.
"Our situational hitting tonight was bad," said Tracy, whose club went 1- for-12 with runners in scoring position.
Matt Cain will look to keep Colorado's bats in check tonight and end his three-start winless drought.
The right-hander opened the season 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA through three starts, but is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in three starts since. His current slide began with his worst outing of the season on April 20 versus the Rockies as he pitched a season-low 4 2/3 innings while allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks.
He has been better in two starts since, but still lost in Washington on Sunday after getting charged with three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits and three walks over six innings.
"I wasn't very good. I felt like I was behind in a lot of counts, giving those guys a lot of opportunities to get on base and good pitches to hit. So it was one of those days you kind of have to grind through it," said Cain of his performance.
The 26-year-old is 11-7 with a 3.22 ERA in 23 career starts versus the Rockies.
The Giants return home off a 5-5 road trip, though they failed to secure a three-game sweep of the Mets with Thursday's 5-2 loss. Mike Fontenot hit a homer and Jonathan Sanchez gave up five runs over five innings.
"He's got to get it back here. He's better than this. We can't look at a guy that's going number two for us going four or five innings. It was not a good day for Johnny [Sanchez]," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy.
The Giants took two of three at Colorado from April 18-20, giving them a victory in six of the past eight meetings.
