White Sox send Buehrle to mound in Baltimore

Chicago had its five-game winning streak stopped in heartbreaking fashion on Wednesday, as Nolan Reimold's two-run homer off Jason Frasor in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Orioles past the White Sox, 6-4.
Chicago had rallied from a 4-0 deficit to send the game to extra innings, but wasted a two-out double by A.J. Pierzynski in the top of the 10th.
Chris Davis singled with one out in the bottom half, and Reimold pounded the next pitch from Frasor (2-2) into the bullpen to halt Baltimore's three-game skid and end the White Sox's streak.
"I was just trying to be relaxed," Reimold said of his approach. "I jumped on the first pitch. I was happy to come through."
J.J. Hardy went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and Adam Jones also went deep in a three-hit effort for the Orioles. Michael Gonzalez (2-2) stranded Pierzynski in the 10th to earn the win.
Now, the White Sox turn to Buehrle, who is 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA in eight outings since losing at Minnesota on June 16. He's allowed 12 runs - four earned - over 35 innings while going 3-0 in his last five starts.
"My curveball, I don't know if that's the one thing to pinpoint that really is making me good, but my curveball has been better than it has been in a while," Buehrle said. "I can't pinpoint why I'm having the success I am. I'm just going out trying to win games."
Buehrle's most recent win came on Friday in Minnesota, as he allowed just three unearned runs and four hits over eight innings to run his record to 9-5 on the year, while lowering his ERA to 3.04.
Buehrle tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings to beat the Orioles back on May 2 and is 6-5 lifetime against them with a 2.78 ERA in 17 games, 15 of which have been starts.
Baltimore, meanwhile, will counter with righty Chris Tillman, who is 3-4 with a 4.85 ERA. Tillman beat the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, holding them to a pair of runs and four hits in seven innings.
"You just got to take what you did and try to carry it over," Tillman said. "I'm planning on taking everything I did in that game and take it to this one. Run with it."
Tillman beat the White Sox back on April 30 in his only other appearance against the club. He surrendered a run and six hits in five innings of that one.
