Duncan's triple-double helps Spurs stay perfect on road

Dec 1, 2010 - 8:54 AM Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Tim Duncan scored 15 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out 11 assists to record the third triple-double of his career, as the sizzling San Antonio Spurs dominated the Golden State Warriors, 118-98.

Manu Ginobili added 27 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Spurs, who improved to 8-0 on the road this season. DeJuan Blair donated 16 points and 10 boards.

"He's Tim Duncan. That's what he does," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. "He's been the heart and soul of our program for a long time. He's where it all begins, and after all this time, we probably take it for granted."

Gary Neal tallied 14 points off the bench for San Antonio, which has won nine in a row against Golden State. Richard Jefferson, Tony Parker and George Hill each chipped in with 12 points for the 15-2 Spurs.

Stephen Curry scored 32 points and dished out five assists for the Warriors, who have lost eight of their past 10 games. David Lee added 18 points, seven boards and five assists.

"You have to play smart and make minimal mistakes because they are going to capitalize," Curry said. "They run their offense so well and have played with each other for so long that they know where to be offensively. When you take out their first option they have their spacing so great that everyone is in the right spot and they move that ball where somebody is going to make a play."

Holding a 32-30 lead with 10 1/2 minutes left until half, the Spurs went on a 17-7 run to create some distance. Blair tallied six points during the burst, which Jefferson capped with an alley-oop slam for a 49-37 margin with 4:53 remaining.

San Antonio made 15-of-18 shots from the charity stripe in the first half to take a 58-48 lead into the locker room.

Ahead by 10, 72-62, midway through the third, the Spurs essentially put the game away with a 15-6 surge. Ginobili tallied eight points during the stretch, including a three-point play to make it an 87-68 contest. It was 91-73 heading to the fourth.

Golden State never got closer than 12 in the fourth.

Golden State is 7-3 with Lee in the lineup and a dismal 1-7 when he sits...San Antonio made 27-of-31 shots from the charity stripe, while the Warriors went 11-of-18 from the foul line.
