Brad Miller added 23 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Houston, which snapped a four-game road losing streak. The Rockets went 16-of-23 from three-point range.
"We were just terrific all night. We shot it so well from every part of the court," Rockets head coach Rick Adelman said. "We moved the ball well. In the second half I thought we did a better job defensively. But offensively, that's about as good as you can get with our shooting percentage from the floor, threes and the free throw line."
Rudy Gay finished with 29 points for the Grizzlies, who saw their four-game home winning streak come to an end. Marc Gasol tallied 20 points, seven boards and five assists, while Mike Conley chipped in 19 points and eight assists in defeat.
The Grizzlies, who led by as many as five in the first quarter, tied the game at 23 on a pair of Gasol free throws with over four minutes left. Martin then gave Houston the lead for good with a three-pointer. Lowry made a trey of his own following Gay's jumper.
Houston built a 34-27 lead on Chase Budinger's three-pointer with 1:46 remaining. It was 38-31 after 12 minutes of action.
Memphis cut the gap to 46-43 with 7:39 left in the second stanza. The Rockets, though, responded with a 13-2 burst to create some distance again. Miller tallied nine points during the stretch, including a layup to make it a 59-45 game with 4:18 to go. Houston took a 69-60 lead into the locker room.
A tight third quarter resulted in the Rockets holding a 98-90 edge.
Gay and Gasol each made jumpers to start the fourth, which got the Grizzlies within 98-94. Miller followed with consecutive three-pointers to give Houston a 10-point lead.
Memphis never got closer than eight the rest of the way.
"Defensively it's not just one person," Gay said. "It's the whole team concept, and we're not clicking on our end. We have to go back and find ourselves. We have to go back and find out why we're not being a good defensive team to start off with."
