Warriors and Rockets meet in Oakland

Dec 20, 2010 - 4:00 PM (Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets will resume a three-game road trip tonight against the Golden State Warriors from Oracle Arena.

Houston has won two in a row and four of five games, and opened the trek with a 102-93 triumph at Sacramento on Sunday. Kevin Martin led the way with 22 points, Luis Scola added 17 points and nine rebounds and Aaron Brooks returned from injury to post nine points in 15 minutes.

Brooks had not played since early November because of sprained ankle.

"We've been talking about raising our level lately and that's what we did in the fourth quarter," Rockets guard Kyle Lowry said. "We raised our level. We held a good team to 12 points and that's big and huge for us."

Lowry had 13 points, seven assists and six boards in a winning effort. The Rockets will also visit the Clippers and are 4-11 as the guest in 2010-11.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have dropped eight of nine games and suffered a 96-95 loss Saturday in Portland.

Monta Ellis had 26 points and missed a shot at the buzzer, but also accounted for seven of his team's 18 turnovers. Reggie Williams tallied 16 points for the Warriors, who nearly rallied from a 15-point deficit in the final quarter.

"He had it right there and lined up, but it didn't go in." Warriors coach Keith Smart said. "We had a ton of stops after the two-minute mark to get us back in the basketball game."

David Lee had 13 points and 11 rebounds in defeat. Golden State will put its 6-5 home ledger on the line this evening. Warriors guard Stephen Curry has missed four straight games with an ankle issue and is questionable for Monday.

Houston and Golden State have split a pair of matchups this season. Houston has won 13 of 18 and 14 of the last 20 meetings between the teams.
