Durant, Thunder take on Wizards in nation's capital

Mar 14, 2011 - 3:06 PM (Sports Network) - Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder won't have much time to reflect on their recent win as they square off with the Washington Wizards tonight in the nation's capital.

The Northwest Division-leading Thunder posted their third straight win and sixth in seven tries with Sunday's 95-75 victory at Cleveland in the opener of a three-game road trip. Russell Westbrook and Durant finished with 20 and 19 points, respectively, for Oklahoma City, which is 19-14 on the road.

"We had the commanding lead and we were playing defense," Durant said.

James Harden scored 16 points off the bench and Serge Ibaka totaled eight points and 14 rebounds. Harden entered the Cavaliers game averaging 17.7 points since the All-Star break.

Oklahoma City will also visit LeBron James and the Miami Heat on the road swing, and is fourth in the Western Conference standings. It is 19-6 against teams from the East this season.

The Thunder are still waiting for newcomer Kendrick Perkins to hit the floor since acquiring him from Boston before the trade deadline. Perkins is out with a sprained knee and is questionable for Monday's game against the Wizards. Nick Collison is also questionable with an ankle sprain.

Washington will close out a three-game homestand this evening and has dropped three in a row and 10 of its last 11 games. It fell to 0-2 on the residency following Saturday's 122-101 setback versus the Los Angeles Clippers.

Wizards rookie John Wall scored 25 points and first-year player Jordan Crawford added 16 off the bench for the Wizards, who are 15-19 at the Verizon Center and got 15 points from Nick Young.

"We're not as good as [the Clippers] right now," said Washington head coach Flip Saunders.

Forwards Andray Blatche (shoulder) and Rashard Lewis (knee) are both listed as questionable for tonight's game.

Oklahoma City defeated Washington, 124-117, in double overtime on Jan. 28 this season in the OKC, as Durant finished with 40 points and Westbrook had a triple-double with 35 points, 13 assists and 13 rebounds. The Thunder have won four straight over the Wizards, but are only 1-6 in the past seven in DC.
