Marshall defeats St. Bonaventure 80-61
Jan 2, 2010 - 10:02 PM HUNTINGTON, W.Va.(AP) -- Hassan Whiteside scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his second double-double in a row to lead Marshall to an 80-61 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.Tyler Wilkerson finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Thundering Herd (11-2), who won their second straight game. Shaquille Johnson and Dago Pena each added 11 points. Whiteside had six blocks.
Marshall, whose only losses are to Old Dominion and North Carolina, scored 22 points off 15 St. Bonaventure turnovers. The Thundering Herd led 39-30 at halftime and built their biggest lead of 59-36 on a layup by Pena with 11:02 to play.
The Bonnies (7-6) shot only 36.7 percent from the field (22-for-60), including making only 10 of 35 shots (28.6 percent) in the second half.
Ogo Adegboye led the Bonnies with 15 points, and Jonathan Hall added 11 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Nicholson also had 11 points.
