No. 3 Duke storms past Hurricanes
Feb 4, 2011 - 2:31 AM Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Haley Peters scored 15 points to lead No. 3 Duke to an 82-58 rout Thursday over 18th-ranked Miami-Florida.Karima Christmas added 14 points, Richa Jackson had 13 and the Blue Devils (21-1, 7-0 ACC) easily rebounded from an 87-51 loss to No. 2 Connecticut on Monday -- their first loss of the season.
Riquna Williams poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Hurricanes (20-3, 6-2), who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
Shenise Johnson chipped in 12 points but Miami shot just 32 percent from the field, including 26 percent in the second half.
Duke, on the other hand, was lights-out from the field while shooting 55 percent.
The Blue Devils shot 49 percent for a 43-32 lead at halftime, then turned it up in the second half, hitting 64 percent of their tries to run away with the game.
