Lawrence carries No. 12 George Washington past LaSalle
Jan 28, 2007 - 9:02 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Sarah-Jo Lawrence flashed her complete game.Lawrence collected 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as 12th-ranked George Washington coasted to a 71-47 victory over LaSalle in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup.
Jessica Adair had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Kimberly Beck scored 12 for the Colonials (18-2, 7-0 A-10), who extended their winning streak to 11 games.
A 5-11 junior, Lawrence connected on 7-of-12 shots - including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. She also grabbed four steals.
George Washington shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the floor en route to opening a 34-20 advantage through the first 20 minutes.
The Colonials finished with an impressive 34-4 edge in points in the paint and scored 29 points off 17 turnovers by the Explorers.
Crista Rickets scored 16 points for LaSalle (15-7, 3-4), which shot just 22 percent (10-of-44) and fell to 2-27 all-time against George Washington.
