Quaye lifts Marquette past Georgetown
Feb 10, 2007 - 10:12 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Christina Quaye scored 27 points to lead No. 22 Marquette to a 67-52 Big East Conference romp over Georgetown.The Golden Eagles (20-4, 8-3 Big East) scored the final 15 points of the first half to open a comfortable 31-17 lead.
Quaye then opened the second half by scoring the first eight points for Marquette to push the lead to 39-22 and Georgetown (12-13, 2-10) never got the deficit under double digits thereafter.
Krystal Ellis added 14 points for the Golden Eagles, who were 21-of-25 from the free-throw line, including 10-of-10 by Quaye.
Kieraah Marlow scored 17 points and Aminata Diop 14 for the Hoyas, who were outrebounded, 41-31.
