Humphrey guides Georgia past South Carolina
Feb 12, 2007 - 12:59 AM ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- Tasha Humphrey had 23 points and 11 rebounds to lift No. 12 Georgia to an 81-57 romp over South Carolina in a Southeastern Conference matchup.The Lady Bulldogs (21-5, 8-3 SEC) scored 19 straight points to take a 22-4 lead and extended the margin to 28 points before taking a 46-21 lead into the half.
Humphrey registered her fourth double-double in the past sixth games in helping Georgia to a 38-29 advantage on the backboards.
Ashley Houts and Megan Darrah added 13 points apiece for the Lady Bulldogs, who shot 54 percent (30-of-56) from the floor.
Lauren Simms scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting for South Carolina (14-12, 4-7), which committed 23 turnovers that led to 29 points for Georgia.
