No. 4 Maryland overpowers Oklahoma

Nov 12, 2007 - 1:28 AM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Marissa Coleman had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead No. 4 Maryland to a surprisingly easy 76-66 victory over sixth-ranked Oklahoma in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic on Sunday.

Laura Harper and Kristi Toliver added 16 points apiece for the Terrapins (2-0), who led by as many as 24 points less than six minutes into the second half. Harper also added 11 rebounds.

Trailing, 17-16, Maryland closed the first half with a 26-7 run to take a commanding 42-24 lead into the break.

Paris Ashley scored 17 points and Danielle Robinson added 14 for the Sooners (0-1), who shot just 3-of-18 from 3-point range.

Oklahoma center Courtney Paris extended her NCAA record of double-doubles to 62 consecutive games - barely with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
