Zavecz scores 19 to lead Wyoming past Montana
Nov 30, 2007 - 5:18 AM LARAMIE, Wyoming (Ticker) -- Hanna Zavecz scored 19 points and dished out seven assists to lead Wyoming to a 65-54 victory over Montana on Thursday.Wyoming overcame a poor shooting night with a strong defensive effort, holding the Lady Griz to 35 percent (16-of-46) from the floor and dominating the boards, 41-31.
The Cowgirls took 30 shots from beyond the arc, connecting on just eight. Forward Justyna Podziemska was 3-of-6 on her 3-point attempts and finished with 15 points.
Britney Lohman led Montana with 14 points and seven rebounds, hitting 11-of-12 attempts from the free throw line.
