Adair, defense leads George Washington over La Salle
Jan 24, 2008 - 5:59 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Jessica Adair had 14 points and No. 17 George Washington used a strong second half to blow past La Salle, 50-32, in Atlantic 10 Conference action on Wednesday.It was the 12th straight win over the Explorers for the Colonials, who led by only two at the half.
But George Washington (15-4, 3-1 A-10) scored the first 12 points after intermission en route to a 26-8 run that expanded its lead to 48-28 with 5:59 to play.
La Salle (9-10, 1-3) shot just 28 percent (12-of-43) from the field and committed 18 turnovers for the game.
Carlene Hightower had 11 points to lead the Explorers, who have lost three of their last four games.
