Humphrey sparks Georgia past Florida
Feb 15, 2008 - 3:00 AM ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- Tasha Humphrey scored 32 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead 24th-ranked Georgia to an 85-66 victory over Florida in a Southeastern Conference matchup on Thursday.Angela Puleo added 18 points for the Bulldogs (18-7, 5-5 SEC), who scored 38 points off 21 turnovers and shot 48 percent (33-of-69) from the floor.
Humphrey shot 13-of-18 from the floor as Georgia was never seriously challenged in the second half after opening up a 48-31 lead at the break. The Bulldogs shot 8-of-17 (47 percent) from the arc in the opening half.
Sharielle Smith scored 14 points of the bench and Sha Brooks and Depree Bowden added 12 apiece for Florida (15-10, 4-6), which shot just 36 percent (20-of-55)
