Feyenoord held to draw by Willem II

Apr 12, 2015 - 5:07 PM Tilburg, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Feyenoord's chances of a second- place finish in the Eredivisie took a major hit on Sunday as the club needed an 82nd-minute goal from Colin Kazim-Richards to salvage a 2-2 draw at Willem II.

Elvis Manu put Feyenoord in front in the 30th minute with a well-struck volley from the edge of the penalty area, and Feyenoord hoped to push on from there and claim three points.

However, the hosts got a fortunate equalizer from Freek Heerkens when a corner kick caused a scramble in front of goal and the ball ended up in the net after taking a deflection off Heerkens.

Willem II had the better of the chances after the break and the hosts snatched the lead in the 74th when Bruno Andrade made the most of a slip from Feyenoord defender Terence Kongolo that allowed him to beat goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer.

Kazim-Richards had been pretty quiet for much of the match but he showed up in a big way in the 82nd minute by bringing down a ball from Jean Paul Boetius and scoring on the turn to equalize.

Groningen notched a 3-2 win over Cambuur thanks to a goal eight minutes from time through Nick van der Velden, Renato Tapia scored a pair of goals to help Twente to a 3-1 comeback win over Go Ahead Eagles, while Den Haag used second- half goals from Roland Alberg and Gervane Kastaneer to top Utrecht, 2-0.
