Juventus face Torino in Serie A city derby

Sep 21, 2017 - 9:58 AM Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has refrained from bragging after a 4-1 midweek hammering of Lazio that kept his team top in the Serie A.

The Neapolitans have scored 19 goals in five games and are ahead of title holders Juventus on goal difference with both sides on a maximum 15-points.

Promoted Spal are unlikely to pose a serious threat when they host the leaders in Ferrara, while Juve tackle unbeaten Torino in an always tricky Turin derby.

"We are top with Juventus, but we just played five games," Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri said.

"So far we have made fewer individual mistakes than last season, but the period is very short. The real challenge is to maintain this focus for 10 months."

Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri was pleased with the good showings of recent midfielder acquisitions Rodrigo Bentancour and Blaise Matuidi in a 1-0 win over Fiorentina.

"It's going to be a long, hard-fought season," he said.

Roma open Saturday's three-game programme welcoming Udinese as they sit seventh on nine points, a tally they could improve from a game in hand against Sampdoria.

Third-placed Inter welcome Genoa on Sunday, while Milan visit Samp in a crossing of swords between Milanese and Genoese clubs.

Completing the Sunday schedule are Verona v Lazio, Cagliari v Chievo, Crotone v Benevento, Sassuolo v Bologna and the late Fiorentina v Atalanta.
